A research case study in to an athlete pursuit of aiming to reach the Olympic Games in London 2012. Through a case study approach using analysis of conversation and reflections on practice, the paper was aimed to document the experiences of an elite adolescent female athletes excursion to qualify for the 2012 games. The paper discusses the different stressors involved with such an intention for not only the athlete but for the people that make up her team including those sacrifices and stressors undertaken by her parents. It also looks at the implications of burnout for this particular athlete and how structured interventions can have a positive effect if implemented productively.
